A warm welcome to St. Mary the Virgin Church, Potterne near Devizes in Wiltshire. We would love to invite you into our Church family as we worship and serve Jesus in our beautiful 13th century church building.  We aim to provide fellowship and faith for the whole community through our regular services and also through many activities and events in our village which are organised by our Church Team.

We are a welcoming church, serving the whole village community. Our main service together is at 11 am on Sunday. We also have an early morning Communion service most Sundays and some services during the week (diary for this month here). As we are the only church in the village, our worship varies from week to week to cater for different Christian styles: Sometimes very traditional, sometimes much more informal. Whatever style the service is in, you’ll find a warm welcome here.

If you’re driving to us, the postcode SN10 5NA should help your SatNav find us.

We are part of the Wellsprings Benefice of Seend, Bulklington, Poulshot, Potterne, Worton and Marston, in the Salisbury Diocese. Information on activities in the benefice can be found on the 'Wellsprings benefice' FaceBook page.  Christ Church Worton and Marston information is available from the Christ Church web site, Seend Holy Cross web site can be found at the Seend village web site.

We hope our website will help you to find the information you are seeking, whether it be to arrange a baptism (christening) or wedding, or if you are looking to find out how to deal with a death. Perhaps you or someone you know needs prayer, or perhaps you want to find a place of worship and a welcoming new family to join.  Maybe you are thinking of visiting the church building because you are interested in the history of our church which is featured in the book 'Englands 1000 Best Churches'.

Whatever your reasons for looking, these pages should give you a good start.  We also keep in contact with as many people as possible in our village and local area through our monthly parish magazine. But there is no substitute for the real thing, so please feel free to get in touch with us (see contact and find us) or just drop in.

We look forward to seeing you.
